PackTab Privacy Policy

What we collect: account info (name, email, phone number), profile photos, trips, expenses, receipt photos, balances and group members you add, payment handles you choose to share (Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, Wise, Zelle), subscription status for PackTab+ (payments processed by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers), and basic device/usage logs (IP address, browser, timestamps).

How we use it: to run the app (splitting expenses, showing balances, sending invites and reminders you or your group trigger), to secure accounts and prevent fraud and abuse, for billing, and to provide support. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Who sees it: members of a trip see that trip's expenses, balances, names, and the payment handles you choose to share with them. Service providers that process data for us: Vercel (hosting), Resend (email), Stripe (payments), Neon (our database host), xAI (receipt image processing), and Frankfurter (exchange rates; no personal data). We may disclose information if the law requires it or to protect users.

Your choices & rights: you can view and edit your profile, remove payment handles, leave trips, and delete your account in-app or by emailing dmstudiosd@outlook.com. California residents may request access, deletion, or correction of their personal information. We will not discriminate against you for making a request. We respond to browser "Do Not Track"/Global Privacy Control signals as follows: PackTab does not track you across other sites, and we do not currently change how the app works in response to Do Not Track signals.

Retention: we keep data while your account is active and delete it within 30 days of account deletion, except where we must keep it (e.g., billing records).

Security: encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and limited staff access. No system is perfect. We will notify you of a breach as the law requires.

Children: PackTab is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes: we will post updates here with a new effective date and notify you of material changes.
